Pakistani Rupee Sheds Rs 2.44 Against US Dollar

ISLAMABAD: After a slight gain the previous trading day, the Pakistani rupee slid back almost to a position where it was a couple of days before, almost the highest-ever dollar rate against the rupee as on Monday it witnessed a loss by Rs 2.44 against the American Dollar in the interbank trading while closing at Rs 287.08 compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs 284.64.

According to the FAP (Forex Association of Pakistan), the buying and selling rates of the US dollar in the open market were witnessed at Rs 288.25 and Rs 291, respectively.

PAK Rupee Against Euro, Pound, Others

Like the US dollar, the Euro also witnessed an appreciation of Rs 2.37 to close at Rs 313.15 compared to Rs 310.78 on the last trading day, according to SBP (State Bank of Pakistan).

The Japanese Yen recorded a gain of 02 paisas to close at Rs 2.17, while the British Pound experienced an increase of Rs2.31 and was traded at Rs 356.47 compared to its last day’s closing of Rs354.16.

The exchange rate of the Saudi Riyal and Emirates Dirham rose by 66 paisas each to close at  Rs 76.52 and Rs 78.17, respectively.
