KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee largely retained its value against the US dollar in the inter-bank market on Friday morning.
During the early hours of trading, the local currency was being quoted at 283.65, an increase of Re0.01 against the greenback in the inter-bank market.
A day earlier, the rupee slightly gained against the US dollar, closing at 283.66 in the inter-bank market after an increase of Re0.26 or 0.09%.
Govt ends technical-level talks with IMF
In a key development, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Ishaq Dar told the Senate on Thursday that all technical-level talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) were over.
The lender wants guarantees of $3 billion from Saudi Arabia and the UAE, the finance minister said.
