BEIJING: Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar on Tuesday met with President of Kenya Dr. William Ruto on the sidelines of the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing to discuss bilateral ties.
The two sides discussed bilateral cooperation in diverse areas. They reiterated their commitment to enhancing bilateral relationship in areas of education, trade, investment, and people to people contacts.
Pakistan, Kenya vow to enhance engagement
Prime Minister Kakar and President Ruto stressed the importance of economic cooperation and vowed to enhance engagement to explore the true potential of bilateral trade.
The Prime Minister said that as a fellow member of the Belt and Road Initiative, Pakistan would like to enhance cooperation with other BRI member countries including Kenya.
This commitment underlines Pakistan’s dedication towards development and shared prosperity through enhanced cooperation and partnerships.
President Dr. William Ruto reciprocated the sentiments and expressed his country’s interest in learning from Pakistan’s expertise in agriculture and healthcare sectors.

The Prime Minister also requested the Kenyan President for finalization of the Special Joint Investigation Team report on the murder case of late Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif.
Prime Minister Kakar also invited the President of Kenya to visit Pakistan at his connivence. President Dr. William Ruto accepted the invitation while inviting the Prime Minister to visit Kenya.
