Pakistani President for Enhanced Educational and Scientific Cooperation Among OIC Member Countries

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has emphasized the need for strengthening educational and scientific cooperation among COMSTECH member countries to cope with the challenges confronting the OIC members in various sectors.

He stated that there was plenty of open-source knowledge that Muslim countries could fully utilize to their advantage.

The president made these remarks while talking to a team from the Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) Scientific Advisory Council (SAC) led by COMSTECH Coordinator General Prof Dr M Iqbal Choudhary, who met him today at the President’s House.

The president said the world was changing rapidly due to developments in science and technology, and that Islamic countries needed to improve their skills and make speedier decisions in order to keep pace with the fast-changing world.

He said the availability and democratization of knowledge have created more chances for Muslim countries, which should be fully capitalized.

The president also emphasized the importance of focusing on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, as well as finding out-of-the-box solutions to difficulties faced by Muslim countries in education, science, and technology.

The delegation informed the president of COMSTECH’s initiatives to boost scientific and technological cooperation among OIC member states.

They discussed the difficulties and opportunities in higher education, science, technology and innovation (STI), as well as numerous proposals for enhancing collaboration among Muslim countries.

The president appreciated the participants’ views as well as COMSTECH’s contributions to boosting educational and scientific cooperation among member countries.
