ISLAMABAD: Pakistani cricket sensation Shaheen Afridi took to Instagram to share a throwback photo of himself as a young boy and recalled the moment when he first stepped onto the cricket field.
The 23-year-old fast bowler wrote that cricket was his life and that starting from zero was the best moment of his life.
“When you are at Zero, you have the will, the hunger, the passion to do so much more. To never stop!” said Afridi, who joined the national squad at the age of 18.
Afridi is currently playing against New Zealand in the five-match home series in Rawalpindi, but he was rested in the second ODI game due to an injury and replaced by pacer Ihsanullah.
Pakistan won the first ODI match against the New Zealand by five wickets on Thursday, while the second ODI was won by seven wickets in Rawalpindi on Saturday, thanks to centuries by opener batter Fakhar Zaman. The remaining matches of the current series will be played in Karachi on May 3, 5, and 7.
