PESHAWAR: The Peshawar mosque suicide blast has sent Pakistani into an uproar. Strong condemnations are pouring in as the nation reacts to the suicide blast which killed 32 and injured over 150.
Monday, a blast was reported inside a mosque in the Police Lines, Peshawar. According to security officials, the suicide bomber was in the front row during the prayers when he exploded, injuring dozens of faithful offering Zuhr prayers.

The horrific suicide blast has triggered strong condemnations from the public, including political figures from major political parties. Meanwhile, the public fears Pakistan is again witnessing a resurgence of terrorism.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the suicide blast, adding that the explosion inside a mosque proves that those involved in the terror attack have “nothing to do with Islam.”
“These terrorists are trying to instill fear among masses by targeting those who defend the motherland,” he said. He assured the people that the coalition government would take strict action against those involved.

Political leadership condemn Peshawar blast
While condemning the incident, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said that strict action would be taken against the terrorists, their facilitators, and backers. Terror attacks before general and by-elections are “meaningful,” he added. Former president and PPP Co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari condemned the incident, saying that the terrorists being active in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is “extremely dangerous.”

PTI chief and former PM Imran Khan too condemned the Peshawar suicide blast and extended his prayers and condolences go to the victims’ families.
“Strongly condemn the terrorist suicide attack in police lines mosque Peshawar during prayers. My prayers and condolences go to the bereaved families. It is imperative we improve our intelligence gathering & properly equip our police forces to combat the growing threat of terrorism,” Imran Khan said.

#PeshawarBlast is currently the top social media trend in Pakistan as netizens take to social media to express their upset at the horrific incident.
The US embassy in Islamabad also condemned the blast incident via its twitter handle.
Meanwhile Sportsmen and showbiz stars including Shaheen Afridi, Muhamad Hafeez, Faisal Qureshi, Saba Qamar and others also condemned the blast and termed it as a cowardice act while targeting innocent people.
