ISLAMABAD: Pakistani security forces have arrested four terrorists during a successful operation near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the Toba Kakri area of the southern Balochistan province.
Weapons, including Kalashnikovs, hand grenades and other firearms were recovered from the arrested terrorists.
According to Radio Pakistan, the arrested terrorists confessed to planning a major terrorist attack.
In his confessional statement, one arrested terrorist said they entered Pakistan three days ago from Afghanistan.
The security sources said the locals of the area played a significant role in the success of this operation against the terrorists.
Positive development
Defence experts described it a positive development that the local population is fighting alongside security forces against the terrorists.
They said the primary reason for the rise in terrorism in Pakistan is the terrorist organisations flourishing on Afghan soil.
They said Afghanistan has become a haven for terrorists and immediate international action is needed.
The development comes following revelations by prominent Afghan journalist Bilal Sarwary that the 18 terrorists that were killed recently by the Pakistan Army near the Pak-Afghan border belonged to the Afghanistan army.
