ISLAMABAD: The High Commission of Pakistan in Singapore hosted a special screening of Pakistani feature film “Nayab”, as part of its cultural diplomacy initiatives to enhance mutual understanding and people-to-people ties between the two countries.

The representatives from the diplomatic corps, Singaporean government officials, media professionals, film industry stakeholders, and Pakistani community were invited to attend the event, according to a press release.

The screening served as a platform to highlight Pakistan’s creative landscape and to promote dialogue through the shared experience of cinema.

In her remarks, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Singapore Rabia Shafiq underscored the importance of cultural exchanges and power of storytelling through cinema.

She noted that Pakistani cinema had evolved over the years and reflects the diversity, complexity and aspirations of Pakistani society today.

The event concluded on a high note, with the audience expressing strong appreciation for the film, its cast, and the powerful message it conveyed.

The attendees also praised the performances, direction, and the film’s portrayal of believing in the empowerment, and cultural identity.
