Pakistani Envoy, US Official Discusses Boosting Economic Ties

WASHINGTON: Masood Khan, Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States, on Wednesday discussed with Jose Fernandez, the US Under Secretary for Economic Growth, Energy, and Environment steps to strengthen the economic relations between both countries.

Under Secretary Fernandez tweeted, “Today I discussed with Pakistani Ambassador Masood Khan boosting Pak-US economic cooperation and climate resilience via the U.S.-Pakistan Green Alliance and investment in the technology sector.”

He said, “I look forward to working together on mutually beneficial priorities.”

Ambassador Masood Khan reciprocated by thanking Fernandez for welcoming him warmly, according to a news release from the Pakistani embassy.

He tweeted, “Together, Pakistan and the US will work to elevate our cooperation in trade, technology, climate resilience, agriculture, and energy.” Additionally, he stressed the desire to increase Pakistan’s foreign direct investment (FDI) from the US. —APP
