BEIJING, China: To promote Pakistani culture in China under the China-Pakistan Tourism Exchanges for this year, the Pakistani Cultural Troupe mesmerized the Chinese and international audience with their breathtaking performance at the Great Wall International Folk Festival held at the Silk Road International Art Centre in the city of Langfang near Beijing.
The Pakistani troupe delivered a traditional cultural performance that vividly depicted the lively and dynamic fusion of cultures from all provinces of Pakistan. Pakistan proudly stood alongside five participating countries at the festival, including Brazil, Malaysia, Mongolia, Oman, and Turkmenistan.
Under the leadership of Zulfiqar Zulfi, a distinguished artist who has received the prestigious Pride of Performance award for his contributions to the arts in Pakistan, the troupe consisted of twelve highly skilled team members selected by the Punjab Information and Culture Department.
During their two-day representation of Pakistan at the Silk Road Arts Center, the troupe expertly choreographed an engaging medley featuring famous folk songs from various regions of Pakistan. They enthralled the audience with the rhythmic beats of the dhol (drum) and their captivating cultural performance.
In addition to their performances in Langfang, the troupe was welcomed by Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Moin ul Haque, and his team at the Embassy in Beijing. During this meeting, the Ambassador provided insights into the ongoing cultural exchange initiatives between Pakistan and China while attentively listening to the troupe’s valuable feedback and suggestions.
