ISLAMABAD: An Anti-terrorism Court in the federal capital granted bail to a former Member of the National Assembly from South Waziristan, Ali Wazir, in an alleged fraud case.
The bail request was heard by the Anti-Terrorism Court Judge, Abul Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain. After considering arguments from both sides, the court accepted the bail plea and ordered his release against a surety bond of Rs20,000.
Ali Wazir Arrest
On August 20, Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) leader Ali Wazir and human rights advocate Imaan Mazari were taken into custody by Islamabad police for investigation following a public rally held by PTM in the federal capital, Islamabad.
Prior to their arrest, both had attended and spoken at the public rally, during which they criticized law enforcement agencies.
