RIYADH: Pakistani conjoined twins, Sufyan and Yusuf, arrived in Saudi Arabia on Monday to undergo a comprehensive medical evaluation to determine if they can be surgically separated.
The twins and their parents were received upon arrival at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and subsequently transferred to the King Abdullah Specialized Children’s Hospital, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The hospital, operating under the Saudi Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs, will oversee the initial phase of medical assessments.
The children’s travel to the Kingdom was facilitated by a directive from King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s continued commitment to humanitarian initiatives involving complex medical cases.
Leading the medical team is Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, head of the internationally renowned Saudi Conjoined Twins Programme. The team will conduct a series of evaluations to assess the feasibility of a separation procedure. Dr. Al-Rabeeah expressed his gratitude to the Saudi leadership for their unwavering support of such life-changing medical missions.

The Saudi Conjoined Twins Programme has earned global recognition for its expertise in successful separation surgeries, establishing the Kingdom as a leading centre for advanced medical care and offering hope to families facing such extraordinary challenges.
In a statement carried by SPA, the twins’ family conveyed their deep gratitude to the Saudi leadership and people for the warm welcome and the swift, compassionate response to their son’s critical medical needs.
