Pakistani-American businessmen urged to invest in Pakistan

WASHINGTON: Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States, Masood Khan, urged Pakistani-American businessmen to invest in Pakistan with “full confidence”.

“We are inviting investment from the United States and the Gulf region,” he said in a Pakistan Embassy Press release at the Pakistan Business Forum (PABF) 2023 Annual Awards Banquet in Dallas, Texas.

“China is already investing through CPEC projects. We have invited the Gulf region to participate in the mining industry and cooperate with many European and North American companies. This creates a huge opportunity for further investment in Pakistan,” the ambassador said, adding that since the infrastructure was there, “so enter this market”.

“Don’t delay. Invest in Pakistan with full confidence,” said Masood Khan, “Pakistan is ripe for investment.”

The Ambassador thanked PABF Chairman Waqar Khan, President Anwer Azam and other PABF members for giving him the opportunity to highlight the country’s business potential. He also thanked Texas State Representative Salman Bhojani, Richardson Mayor Bob Dooley, Shamsul Aarifeen and Abdul Khabir for their presence.

Addressing leading businessmen and businessmen, he said that with the presence of 80 American companies, there is already a vast infrastructure for investment in Pakistan.

“You have to scale up, and there is plenty of opportunity to do that in Pakistan.” he said.

The ambassador proposed creating a forum to address specific issues related to Pakistan’s regulatory structure, the ease of doing business there, the repatriation of profits, and other problems facing the business community and potential investors in Dallas, Houston, or any other region of the United States.

The ambassador highlighted the mining sector, agriculture, education, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, biotechnology, which are opening up to the world and offering huge dividends to investors and the business community.

He recalled the unwavering support of the Pakistani-American community and said that Pakistani-Americans have always stood by Pakistan. They will continue to support Pakistan and its economy through their investments and positive contributions.

Noting the presence of about one million Pakistanis in the United States, the ambassador advised Pakistani-Americans to come together as a community and further strengthen the bridges between Pakistan and the United States.
