ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Shafqat Ali Khan has praised Pakistani chartered accountants for their contributions to the UAE’s economy, describing their professional achievements as a source of pride for Pakistan.
Addressing the annual general meeting and members’ recognition ceremony of the UAE Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) in Dubai, the ambassador said Pakistani chartered accountants were contributing significantly to the UAE’s economic diversification and its development as a regional financial hub.
Accountants represent Pakistani talent
He said every qualified Pakistani chartered accountant working in the UAE represented Pakistan’s professional talent and helped strengthen the country’s reputation in the highly competitive UAE marketplace.
The event was attended by more than 175 members and financial leaders. Guests included Dubai Financial Services Authority Director Naweed Lalani, ICAP Vice President JehanZeb Amin and Pakistan Embassy Trade Counsellor Ali Zeb Khan.

The ceremony also recognised 72 ICAP members for reaching major professional milestones. The members were honoured in three categories for 50, 25 and 15 years of service to the profession.
The UAE Chapter has more than 1,000 Pakistani chartered accountants working in finance and leadership roles in different sectors, according to ICAP.
The Pakistani professionals are serving as drivers of the UAE’s economy, which continues to expand its digital tax and financial systems, increasing demand for professionals in accounting, compliance, governance and financial management.
