LAHORE: Pakistan women’s cricket team Nida Dar, along with members of the national women’s team, met with Zaka Ashraf, Chairman of the PCB Management Committee, in Lahore on Monday.
The meeting was held during the Women Player Development Program orientation, where PCB Chairman was a chief guest. Women’s Wing head Tania Mallick and PCB Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer also attended the meeting.
During the discussion, Zaka Ashraf acknowledged the dedication and contributions of women cricketers to the sport. On the occasion of Pakistan’s 76th Independence Day, he announced the introduction of the first-ever domestic contracts for women cricketers and a significant increase in central contracts for them.
He reiterated his commitment to promoting the progress of women cricketers throughout the nation and assured them of his ongoing support. Zaka Ashraf emphasized the importance of providing equal opportunities, resources, and facilities, including more cricket grounds, to women cricketers, enabling them to excel at both national and international levels.
PCB to Enhance New Contracts
Appreciating the women cricketers’ progress, Zaka Ashraf said he was extremely happy with the recent remarkable progress. These cricketers showcase exceptional talent and serve as true ambassadors of our nation. Their dedication on the field reflects their commitment to the sport and the pride they bring to Pakistan.”
He also ensured to improve their contracts, and their focus is to ensure that their women cricketers receive the respect, support, and opportunities they need to excel in this game.
The Women’s Team Captain congratulated Zaka Ashraf on his appointment as the Chairman of the PCB Management Committee. They commended his proactive initiatives aimed at the growth of women’s cricket in Pakistan and expressed their enthusiasm for the future of women’s cricket under his leadership. The players thanked him for his continuous support of women’s cricket.
The PCB is expected to announce further details regarding women’s contracts in due course.
