LAHORE: The Pakistan women’s cricket team’s return from South Africa has been postponed due to ongoing cross-border tensions in the Middle East and partial airspace closures in the region.
The squad had been scheduled to fly from Durban to Pakistan via Dubai on Monday night after completing their ODI series. However, flight operations across parts of the Middle East remain disrupted amid the prevailing regional instability.
Although limited flight services resumed on Monday. The team will only begin their journey once full flight operations are restored.
Positive note
Pakistan toured South Africa for three T20Is and three ODIs, with the hosts claiming both series 2-1.
The visitors ended the tour on a positive note, registering a convincing 119-run win in the third ODI at Kingsmead on Sunday.
After being asked to bat, Pakistan posted 306/8 in their 50 overs, powered by half-centuries from Sadaf Shamas and captain Fatima Sana. The bowlers then combined effectively to dismiss South Africa for 187 in 36.2 overs, sealing a comprehensive victory.
