NOTTINGHAM, England: The 15-member Pakistan women’s cricket team touched down here on Friday afternoon, carrying hopes of redemption after a winless tri-series campaign in Ireland, as they prepare to battle the world’s best in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, co-hosted by England and Wales from June 12 to July 5.

Upon their arrival, the squad, led by all-rounder Fatima Sana, was granted a rest day before diving into preparations.

Their first warm-up clash will be against Sri Lanka in Derby on Saturday, followed by a training session on Sunday at the County Ground. A second practice match against Scotland is scheduled for Monday at the same venue.

Slotted in Group 1, Pakistan will launch their tournament campaign on June 14 with a blockbuster showdown against arch-rivals India at Edgbaston in Birmingham, a fixture that promises high drama and intense rivalry.

The Green Shirts will then travel to Southampton to face Bangladesh on June 20, before concluding their group-stage commitments against Australia in Leeds (June 23) and the Netherlands in Bristol (June 27).
