ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said on Friday that SPI recorded no change in inflation in the previous week ended on December 8 as compared to the last week. The Sensitive Price Indicator for the week remained constant at 218.51 points, PBS added.
As compared to the corresponding week of 2021, the Sensitive Price Indicator for the consumption group in the week under review witnessed a rise of 30.66 percent.
During the period, out of fifty-one items, prices of twenty-four items increased while eight items decreased and nineteen items remained stable.

PBS said that major raise is observed in the prices of food items, Onions (8.74%), Bananas (2.36%), Rice Basmati Broken (2.22%), Eggs (1.98%), Salt Powdered (1.33%) and Sugar (1.17%), non-food items, LPG (2.47%) and Match Box (1.95%).
According to PBS major decrease is also observed in the prices of Tomatoes (25.48%), Chicken (3.70%), Potatoes (3.68%), Pulse Masoor (0.38%), Cooking Oil 5 liter & Vegetable Ghee 2.5 Kg (0.32%) each, Pulse Gram (0.30%) and Vegetable Ghee 1 Kg (0.28%).
