Pakistan Wins Award for Outstanding Services to Hajj Pilgrims

ISLAMABAD: Director General of the Pakistan Hajj Mission Abdul Wahab Soomro has won the ‘Labaitum Excellence Award’ for providing outstanding services to the Hajj pilgrims.

“Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has conferred the Labaitum Excellence Award on DG Pakistan Hajj Mission, Abdul Wahab Soomro, for his outstanding and innovative leadership,” said a statement issued by the Pakistan Hajj Mission on Monday.

Abdul Wahab Soomro was recognised as the “Most Innovative and Diligent Head of Hajj Mission” for his remarkable services and dedication to the welfare of Pakistani pilgrims.

His tireless efforts have significantly enhanced the overall experience and facilitation for the pilgrims (guests of Allah Almighty) from Pakistan, setting a new benchmark in Hajj operations, it further said.

The award is a testament to Abdul Wahab Soomro’s commitment, strategic innovation, and exceptional management during Hajj 2025.

“Alhamdolillah! This is a proud moment for all of us. Let’s celebrate this remarkable recognition,” the statement added.

The Labaitum Excellence Award is considered one of the highest honours by the Saudi authorities, granted to individuals and organisations demonstrating exemplary performance and innovation in the service of pilgrims.

It is also pertinent to mention that this is for the first time in history that a Pakistani Head of Hajj Mission has received this prestigious Award, making it a moment of great pride for the country.

Meanwhile, Saudi Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr Abdul Fatah Mishat has handed over a preliminary planning document and schedule for Hajj 2026 to Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf in Makkah.
