KARACHI: Pakistan’s meteorological department said on Monday that a low-pressure system over India’s Gujarat state is expected to move into the northeast Arabian Sea around October 1, possibly intensifying into a depression, though it poses no threat to Pakistan’s coast.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department’s (PMD) cyclone warning centre in Karachi reported that a well-marked low-pressure area is currently over the Gulf of Cambay (Khambhat) and adjoining Gujarat, India.
According to the warning, the system is expected to move west-northwest and enter the Northeast Arabian Sea around October 1, 2025, near Saurashtra, India. There is a possibility that it may intensify into a depression as it emerges into the Arabian Sea.
Currently, the PMD has stated that there is no threat to any Pakistani coastal areas. The cyclone warning center in Karachi is closely monitoring the situation.
