Pakistan Wants to Transform Relations with KSA into Development Partnership: Minister for Petroleum

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister for Petroleum, Dr. Musadik Malik has said that Pakistan aims to transform its longstanding historical and cultural relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) into a partnership focused on development and growth.

According to APP, the Minister was addressing the Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Business Forum in Islamabad. The Minister stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral ties and Pakistan’s desire to foster closer cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to promote mutual economic and developmental progress.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have deep historical relations, he added. The Minister expressed Pakistan’s interest in further developing cooperation in key areas such as economic growth, food security, and energy security.

He added that both countries are prepared to join hands and move forward to present the current global industrial revolution. The Minister maintained that Pakistan seeks to boost exports, diversify its economy, create employment, increase remittances, and enhance productivity.

Referring to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, Dr. Musadik Malik has highlighted the Kingdom’s goals of achieving growth, indigenization, diversification, and innovation-driven, energy-intensive development.

The Minister further elaborated on Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which focuses on 13 strategic sectors including automotive, aviation, consumer retail, construction, financial services, entertainment, food and agriculture, real estate, mining, media and technology, telecom, healthcare, transport, and energy.

The Minister thanked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabian delegation for visiting Pakistan, saying, “Our success is your success; together, we will bring about a revolution.”
