Pakistan Wants ‘CPEC-Style’ Economic Collaboration with Saudi Arabia

JEDDAH: Pakistan’s federal minister for planning and development, Ahsan Iqbal, on Sunday said that his country wants to form CPEC-like economic collaboration with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Ahsan Iqbal was addressing the Pakistani community at Pakistan’s consulate in Jeddah. He said a joint investment offer had been made to China and Saudi Arabia based on the CPEC project.

The federal minister said that news regarding Pakistan’s defaulting is baseless and maintained that the incumbent Pakistani government had resumed the CPEC project after the previous government of PTI caused damage to the project.

Speaking on the occasion, Ahsan Iqbal said that due to the poor economic policies of the previous government, Pakistan’s economy was at stake. The PML-N led the current government’s economic situation of the country by complying with the IMF directives and policies.

Government to Introduce Insurance Scheme for Overseas Pakistanis

The minister emphasized the importance of overseas Pakistanis and called them strategic partners of Pakistan. He maintained that overseas Pakistanis are a valuable asset to Pakistan. He added that the government intended to introduce an insurance scheme for overseas Pakistanis to facilitate them.
