Pakistan Vows Proactive Role in Global Security Cooperation

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti has affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to playing a proactive role in all forms of international cooperation aimed at bolstering global security. 

He said this during his meeting with the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, who called on him in Islamabad on Monday.

During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, emphasizing the deep-rooted friendship between Pakistan and China as a model for the world. They agreed to further enhance cooperation in various fields, particularly in the field of security.

Minister Bugti highlighted the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and China, citing Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar’s recent visit to China as a pivotal step to strengthen cooperation across various domains, including security.

Interior Minister Commends China’s Global Security Vision

He expressed confidence in the implementation of agreements made during the Prime Minister’s visit and commended Chinese President Xi Jinping’s global security initiative.

Bugti assured that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure the security of Chinese citizens in Pakistan, emphasizing the commitment to combating terrorism. He noted that while terrorism has posed challenges in the past, Pakistan has successfully overcome them and remains dedicated to eradicating terrorism completely in the future.

The Chinese Ambassador, on his part, praised Pakistan’s significant role in the fight against terrorism and extended gratitude to Minister Bugti for ensuring the security of Chinese citizens. The diplomatic exchange underscored the ongoing commitment of both nations to fostering strong bilateral ties and addressing shared security concerns.
