TASHKENT: Caretaker Chief Minister of Pakistan’s Punjab Province Mohsin Naqvi, and Agriculture Minister of Uzbekistan, Dr. Aziz Voitov, have agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the agriculture sector, APP reported.
Chief Minister’s spokesman told reporters that during the meeting which took place in Tashkent, both sides agreed to boost cooperation between Punjab and Uzbekistan in the agriculture sector with a focus on digitalization and cotton production.
He added necessary measures would be taken with Uzbekistan’s assistance to digitalize Punjab’s farm sector.
The Punjab government would use Uzbekistan’s nine-point agenda under a 10-year programme to develop its agriculture sector.

it was decided in the meeting that a team comprising the chief secretary and the secretary of agriculture of Punjab will take steps to benefit from the experience of Uzbekistan’s in agriculture.
During the meeting, senior officials from Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector briefed the Pakistani delegation about the measures taken in Uzbekistan’s agricultural revolution.
They stressed that Uzbekistan’s economy has been strengthened through a nine-point agenda, and the development of agriculture played a pivotal role in transforming the country’s destiny.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi also met with Uzbekistan’s Minister for Textiles and Garments Industry, Ilkhom Khaydarov, in the Uzbek capital.
They discussed measures to strengthen cooperation between Punjab and Uzbekistan in the textile sector. The two sides agreed to establish a joint committee to boost bilateral collaboration in this sector.
