ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister for Finance & Revenue, Ishaq Dar, on Saturday said that Uzbekistan and Pakistan could play a key role in powering regional economic integration.
The minister said during his meeting with Uzbek Ambassador to Pakistan, Oybek Usmanov. The Ambassador called on Pakistan’s Finance Minister Ishaq Dar at Finance Division, a press release stated.
Pakistan’s Finance Minister Ishaq Dar welcomed the Uzbek ambassador and highlighted cordial relations and deep historical and cultural linkages between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
The finance minister and Uzbek Ambassador discussed measures to further strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two brotherly countries.
Uzbekistan Keen to Enhance Relations with Pakistan: Ambassador
The Uzbekistan ambassador shared his government’s keen interest in enhancing relations with Pakistan on several fronts through the enhancement of business, investment, and trade.
Pakistan-Uzbekistan Key Players of Region
On behalf of his government, the ambassador also invited the finance minister to visit Uzbekistan’s capital, Tashkent, in January next year to co-chair a joint ministerial meeting.
Pakistan’s Finance Minister Ishaq Dar shared that his country attaches great importance to further strengthening bilateral relations. He also stressed the need to enhance cooperation in many sectors, including cultural exchanges, trade, science and technology, energy, and education with Uzbekistan.
The Finance Minister apprised the Ambassador of Uzbekistan about the potential investment areas available in Pakistan. key.
