Pakistan, US Vow to Strengthen Cooperation in Border Security

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the United States have agreed to strengthen cooperation in border security, counter-narcotics, coast guards, and forensic sciences.

This understanding was reached at a meeting between US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Islamabad on Friday, Radio Pakistan reported.

During the meeting, both sides discussed Pakistan-US–US bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest. They also exchanged views on matters concerning Pakistani nationals wanted by the United States.

Additionally, Natalie Baker expressed condolences over the loss of lives and damage to property caused by recent flooding in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi highlighted the opportunities available for American investors in various sectors of Pakistan, including oil exploration. He assured that the government would extend all possible support and facilitation to encourage US investment.

The Acting US Ambassador emphasised that the United States places special importance on its relationship with Pakistan.
