Pakistan, US Discuss Repatriation of Undocumented Foreigners, Middle East Situation

WASHINGTON: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the US, Masood Khan, met with Congressman William R. (Bill) Keating and Representative Brad Schneider and discussed crucial matters, including the phased repatriation of undocumented foreigners from Pakistan and the evolving situation in the Middle East.

The talks involved Ambassador Khan providing a comprehensive briefing on Pakistan’s phased repatriation efforts, aiming to address the issue of undocumented aliens.

During the meeting, they also discussed the evolving situation in Middle East dynamics. Ambassador Khan and the congressmen exchanged views on the current scenario in the region, fostering a shared commitment to navigate challenges and contribute to stability.

Taking to X, Ambassador Masood Khan expressed optimism about the meeting, stating, “Productive engagement with Congressman Bill Keating today on Pakistan’s phased repatriation of undocumented foreigners. Also discussed the evolving situation in the Middle East. Will work together to strengthen ties.”

Congressman William R. (Bill) Keating, a seasoned member of the House, holds influential positions on both the Foreign Affairs and Armed Services Committees. His dedication to international affairs is underscored by his role as Chairman of the Europe, Eurasia, Energy, and Environment subcommittee of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

Repatriation Undocumented Foreigners

Rep. Keating, in a post on X, highlighted the meeting’s importance, stating, “Productive meeting with Pakistani Ambassador Masood Khan regarding the opening of an IOM facility to process US-bound Afghan allies in Pakistan. We will continue to protect Afghans and their families who risked their lives to protect the US from terrorism.”

During discussions with Representative Brad Schneider, the Ambassador delved into the congressman’s insights on achieving durable peace in the Middle East.

The meeting provided an opportunity for Ambassador Masood Khan to elaborate on the phased repatriation of undocumented foreigners and address climate change concerns.
