ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has stressed the need for the role of the United Nations and the global community in the rehabilitation of Afghan refugees.

He was talking to a delegation led by UN Special Representative for Afghanistan Indrika Ratwatte that met him in Islamabad on Wednesday.

Mohsin Naqvi said Pakistan has been hosting Afghan refugees for past many decades. He added the phase-wise repatriation of illegal foreigners has already started.

He went on to say that no action is being taken against those who are holding legal documents and made it clear that no one can be allowed to stay in Pakistan without visa or other legal documents. He noted the second phase of the repatriation of Afghan refugees will begin soon.
