ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has urged the Taliban authorities in Afghanistan to take immediate and verifiable action against terrorist groups operating from Afghan territory, warning that continued inaction poses a serious threat to regional peace and stability.
Addressing the inaugural session of the 3rd Trilateral Speakers Conference on Monday, Sadiq said that the miscreants are using Afghanistan as a base while the Taliban-led government has done little to stop these terrorist groups.
He said Pakistan remains a direct target of Indian state-sponsored terrorism, which has recently escalated through the proxies of Fitna al Khawarij.
Fitna-al-Khawarij is a term the state uses for terrorists belonging to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
The theme of the Trilateral Conference is strengthening friendly relations and promoting parliamentary cooperation for regional peace and prosperity.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, in his remarks, said the participation of Azerbaijan and Turkiye in the Trilateral Conference is a welcoming sign and a source of pleasure for Pakistan.
He emphasised that the trilateral cooperation between Pakistan, Turkiye, and Azerbaijan represents a unique and strategic partnership. He noted that this collaboration extends beyond government-level ties, reflecting the will of the people and the voice of their parliaments.
Highlighting global challenges, he stated that the international security system is under immense pressure, with ongoing violations of sovereignty and territorial integrity across the global community.
Speaking on the situation in Palestine, the Speaker of the National Assembly condemned the two years of brutality and inhumanity in Gaza, describing it as a lasting stain on the conscience of humanity.
Addressing the issue of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stressed that the Kashmiri people have been denied their right to self-determination for over seven decades, while facing widespread human rights abuses.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people, pledging continued moral, diplomatic, and political backing for their rightful struggle, in line with the UN Security Council resolutions.
The Speaker National Assembly said India made blatant aggression against Pakistan in May this year. But the Armed Forces of Pakistan and the entire nation gave a befitting reply to Indian aggression under “Operation Banyan-um-Marsoos”.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq expressed profound gratitude to Pakistan’s friendly countries, especially Turkiye, Azerbaijan, China, and Saudi Arabia, for supporting Pakistan.
About Afghanistan, the Speaker called upon the Taliban government to take immediate and verifiable actions to neutralize the terrorist groups operating from Afghanistan’s land.
He said Pakistan remains a direct target of Indian state-sponsored terrorism, which has recently escalated through the proxies of Fitna al Khawarij.
