ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is the largest representative platform of the Muslim world and urged the organization to make diplomatic efforts for the Kashmir cause.
The Foreign Minister said this while addressing a joint press conference Organization of Islamic Cooperation Secretary General.
FM Bilawal said Organization of Islamic Cooperation is the common voice of 1.9 billion people in 56 Muslim countries of the world.
He said that it is the largest representative platform of the entire Muslim world, appreciating the role of OIC for Muslim countries.
OIC represents entire Muslim world
The Foreign Minister said that Secretary General Organization of Islamic Cooperation will have a special meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during his visit, apart from this he will also visit Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
He further said that in his capacity as Foreign Minister, he raised the issue of Occupied Kashmir.
Bilawal Bhutto said that India is committing serious violations of human rights in Occupied Kashmir, the Kashmir issue should be resolved according to the resolutions of the Security Council.
OIC condemns Indian atrocities in IIOK
The Foreign Minister said that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has condemned Indian atrocities and the organization should make diplomatic efforts for Kashmiris.
He further said that there has been a detailed discussion with Secretary General OIC regarding dealing with Islamophobia.
Bilawal Bhutto said that the recommendations made regarding Afghanistan in the 17th OIC Foreign Ministers’ Meeting have been discussed with the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Earlier Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari welcomed OIC Secretary General Hussain Brahim Taha at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Later, there was a delegation-level discussion between Foreign Minister Bilawal and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Secretary General, in which the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Secretary General and Foreign Minister discussed the OIC agenda in detail.
The organization of Islamic Cooperation Secretary-General is visiting on the invitation of Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, besides, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the Secretary General also addressed the joint press conference of the determination to face the challenges faced by the Muslim Ummah together.
