Pakistan Urges Immediate International Intervention, Permanent Solution to Palestine Issue

ISLAMABAD: During his participation in the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit in Riyadh, Pakistan’s Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has emphasized the immediate need for international intervention and a lasting solution to the Palestine issue.

PM Kakar’s remarks underscored the gravity of the situation as Israel’s relentless military aggression against innocent Palestinians over the past five weeks has led to a humanitarian catastrophe, sparking fears of a broader regional conflict.

Addressing the summit, Prime Minister Kakar urged the international community to immediately intervene and implement a lasting solution to the Palestinian issue. He called for an urgent and unconditional ceasefire, the lifting of the siege of Gaza, and swift humanitarian assistance to alleviate the suffering of the affected population.

Prominent leaders from the Muslim world gathered at the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit, hosted by Saudi Arabia, to address the unfolding human catastrophe resulting from Israel’s aggressive military invasion. The summit aimed to unite Muslim leaders globally, fostering a spirit of solidarity and fraternity in support of the Palestinian civilians enduring the horrors of Israel’s indiscriminate use of globally banned weapons and arsenal.

Prime Minister Kakar, among the vocal leaders at the summit, highlighted the root causes of the ongoing humanitarian crisis, with over 11,000 Palestinian deaths reported in Gaza since the initiation of Israel’s indiscriminate aerial and ground assaults on October 7.

Reiterating Pakistan’s stance, Prime Minister Kakar emphasized the urgency of bringing an end to Israel’s aggression and brutality. He called for accountability, stating that the Israeli occupation forces’ actions violated international humanitarian and human rights laws, amounting to war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Pakistan’s PM Proposes Legal Action Against Israel

Furthermore, Prime Minister Kakar proposed legal action against Israel for its war crimes and crimes against humanity. He suggested initiating proceedings at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and establishing a special commission of inquiry by the United Nations Secretary-General to investigate these violations.

During his three-day visit, Prime Minister Kakar held meetings with leaders from Arab and Islamic countries on the sidelines of the summit. Meetings with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim focused on expressing deep concern over the situation in Gaza and emphasized the need for urgent international collaboration to halt Israel’s aggression.

The Joint Summit concluded with a call for an immediate ceasefire, an end to the ongoing Israeli aggression and the siege of Gaza, and the implementation of a two-state solution. Leaders denounced the forced displacement of Gaza residents and the occupation of the territory by Israeli armed forces.
