LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has lifted the curtain on its white-ball warriors, unveiling a 16-member ODI and T20I squad for the highly anticipated tour of the West Indies, set to take place across the sun-drenched Caribbean and the vibrant cricket-loving crowd of the United States.
The tour kicks off with a trio of T20 clashes against the West Indies from July 31 to August 3 at the Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium in Lauderhill, Florida. Following their T20 exploits in Bangladesh, the Men in Green will land in the US on July 27, ready to light up the American summer with explosive cricket.
In a strategic move, Salman Ali Agha has been handed the captain’s armband for the T20I leg, bringing fresh leadership to a squad bursting with talent and experience. The pace battery sees the formidable return of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Hasan Ali, ready to rattle stumps on American soil. Rising star Hasan Nawaz, known for his aggressive stroke play, also finds a place, eyeing his first T20I cap.
Meanwhile, in the 50-over format, Mohammad Rizwan continues as ODI skipper, as Pakistan prepares to lock horns with the Caribbean side from August 8 to 12 at the iconic Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad & Tobago. With cricketing giants Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi back in the ODI mix, Pakistan fans have plenty to cheer for.
