ISLAMABAD: The National University of Science and Technology (NUST), in collaboration with GIZ Pakistan for Gender Intersectionality and Climate Change (GICC), is organizing a mega event titled “Women in Climate Action – Celebrating Resilience” on March 08 in honour of International Women’s Day.
This empowering gathering, set to take place at a local hotel, aims to acknowledge and commend the remarkable efforts of women in climate action, spotlighting their leadership, ingenuity, and influence in fostering sustainable and climate-resilient communities.
Researchers, climate advocates, academia, and professionals from the development sector are invited to join this event, featuring panel discussions, success stories, stalls showcasing women-led initiatives, as well as art and photo exhibitions.
As per a NUST official, the event will include an insightful panel discussion, a session for sharing success stories, an article writing competition, and an art and photo exhibition, alongside displays of projects and products.
The panel discussion seeks to offer a holistic understanding of the diverse challenges and opportunities women encounter in climate action. The success storytelling session will spotlight women making notable contributions to climate action, providing a platform for them to share their experiences.
The art and photo exhibition will present striking visuals of women from varied backgrounds and cultures, showcasing their collective impact in addressing climate challenges. Dedicated stalls featuring projects and products from women-led initiatives related to environmental sustainability and climate action will be on display.
