LONDON: Pakistan and the United Kingdom have reaffirmed their commitment to further enhance bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, and other areas of mutual interest.
The reaffirmation came during a meeting between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his UK counterpart Angela Rayner held in London on Tuesday, a Foreign Office statement said.
“They emphasised the importance of sustained high-level engagement and expressed satisfaction with the positive momentum in relations, driven by close people-to-people ties and growing collaboration across multiple domains,” it said.
During the meeting, Ishaq Dar highlighted the contributions of the British Pakistani diaspora to the UK. He underscored Pakistan’s desire to build an inclusive and forward-looking partnership with the United Kingdom.
He also extended an invitation to the Deputy Prime Minister Rayner to visit Islamabad at a mutually convenient time.

UK key trading partner of Pakistan
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, addressing a press conference in London, has described the United Kingdom as a key trading partner of Pakistan, noting significant potential to expand the current bilateral trade volume, which stands at four billion US dollars.
He announced the formation of a business advisory committee aimed at enhancing trade and investment between the two countries.
Reflecting on his visit to the UK, Dar said he held highly productive meetings and engaged in candid discussions with British officials to further strengthen bilateral ties. He added that global and multilateral issues were also discussed during the engagements.
