Pakistan, UAE Ink MoU to Cooperate in Field of Renewable Energy

ISLAMABAD: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been inked by Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to boost cooperation in the sector of renewable energy, local media reported on Thursday.

Speaking at the MoU signing ceremony, Pakistan’s Prime Muhammad Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the development and termed it a positive move to cooperate with UAE in sector of renewable energy.

A local TV channel reported that Shehbaz Sharif said that the UAE helped and supported Islamabad in every difficult time, adding “the UAE played a key role in securing a deal between Pakistan and the IMF”.

Prime Minister Sharif said the capacity of the renewable energy project was 10,000 MW.

On his part, the UAE minister for industry and technology Dr Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber said that the ties between the UAE and Pakistan were very significant.
