ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Army and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Presidential Guards have concluded the two-week joint counter-terrorism exercise Jalmood-I at Pakistan’s northwestern city of Tarbela, a military statement said on Tuesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the exercise was designed to enhance interoperability, coordination, and joint operational skills between the two forces in complex counterterrorism environments.
The exercise focused on hostage rescue operations and included troops from the Pakistan Army’s Special Services Group (SSG) and the UAE Presidential Guards.
The General Officer Commanding SSG attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest, along with senior UAE military officials and diplomats.
ISPR said the exercise reflected the deepening defence collaboration between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, reaffirming their shared commitment to regional security and counterterrorism efforts.
Pakistan and the UAE have strong defence, trade, cultural and brotherly relations, with both countries regularly participating in joint military exercises to strengthen their joint operability.
