Pakistan, Turkiye Explore Opportunities for Cultural Exchange

ISLAMABAD: A Turkish delegation, led by Ambassador Prof. Dr. Mehmet Pacaci, visited the National Heritage and Culture Division, where they met with Pakistan Caretaker Minister Jamal Shah, focusing on shared interests and bilateral relations.

During the meeting, Federal Minister Jamal Shah highlighted the deep-rooted connection between Pakistan and Turkiye, emphasizing the unparalleled bond and affection that distinguish this relationship apart from others.

Shah expressed Pakistan’s high regard and appreciation for its enduring partnership with Turkiye, highlighting the consistent support these two fraternal nations provide to each other during times of need.

The Minister expressed a strong desire to bolster collaboration in fields such as literature, culture, film, cinema, tourism, and other mutual interests. The goal is to further enrich and solidify the depth and recognition of this relationship.

Potential in Pakistan, Turkiye Literary and Cultural Fields

Turkish Ambassador Prof. Dr. Mehmet Pacaci stressed the significant importance of Turkiye’s relationship with Pakistan and the immense potential for enhancing cooperation in cultural and literary domains between these two fraternal nations.

He informed that the Turkish Embassy plans to host a two-day celebration in Islamabad on October 29, 2023, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic. He extended an invitation to the minister to participate in marking this historic milestone in Turkiye’s history—the centenary of the founding of the Republic of Turkiye.

In response, Shah pledged the full support of the National Heritage and Culture Division in organizing the two-day festivities for the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic. He also extended invitations to the Turkish Ambassador and Dr. Halil Toker from the Yunus Emre Culture Center to take part in a national conference organized by the National Heritage and Culture Division, in collaboration with its affiliated departments, aimed at promoting folk literary heritage.

Both sides concurred on enhancing bilateral relations through the initiation of cultural and literary exchange programs.

The delegation included Murat Yagis, who served as the First Secretary, and Dr. Halil Toker from the Yunus Emre Culture Center. Federal Secretary Humaira Ahmed from the National Heritage and Culture Division also attended the meeting.
