ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Turkiye have agreed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of ICT, digital transformation, and innovation.

This came during a meeting between Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja and Turkiye’s Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Irfan Naziroglu in Islamabad on Tuesday, Radio Pakistan reported.

Discussions centered around advancing joint initiatives under the IT Business Council, collaboration on the development of a Technology Park in Pakistan, and launching internship opportunities and fellowship student exchange programmes.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with Turkiye to drive digital transformation, foster innovation, and create new opportunities for youth.

Ambassador Naziroglu reiterated Turkiye’s dedication to working closely with Pakistan to enhance digital connectivity, encourage knowledge sharing, and launch joint initiatives aimed at building a more connected and future-ready Pakistan.

It may be recalled that in July this year, the two sides announced plans to expand bilateral trade to $5 billion and deepen cooperation in energy, defence, and strategic infrastructure.
