LAHORE: Pakistan will play a three-match Test series against England in August and September 2026 as part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025–27 cycle, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Thursday.

According to the schedule announced by the PCB, the first Test will begin on 19 August at Headingley in Leeds.

The second Test will be played at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London from 27 August, while the third and final Test of the series is scheduled from 9 September at Edgbaston in Birmingham. All matches are set to start at 3pm Pakistan Standard Time.

This will be Pakistan’s fourth Test tour of England since 2016 and marks the 29th bilateral Test series between the two sides since their first encounter in 1954.

In a statement, the PCB highlighted the significance of the series, which will not only serve as a key component of the ongoing World Test Championship cycle but also continue the long-standing cricketing rivalry between the two nations.

The announcement comes as Pakistan Shaheens are currently touring England for a three-match 50-over and two-match three-day series.

Batter Saud Shakeel is leading the squad, which includes Test-capped players Mir Hamza, Musa Khan and Sajid Khan.

However, Sajid was ruled out of the tour after sustaining a fracture to his right thumb during training.

Meanwhile, the International Cricket Council (ICC) earlier announced that England would host the next three ICC World Test Championship finals.

Commenting on the decision, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) CEO Richard Gould said, “We are absolutely delighted that England and Wales has been chosen to host the next three ICC World Test Championship finals.”

In addition to the England tour, the PCB also confirmed that the Pakistan Shaheens will visit Darwin, Australia, later this year to participate in the Top End T20 Series as part of their continued preparations and development.
