ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is all set to host the 4th Pakistan-Africa Trade Development Conference (PATDC) & Single Country Exhibition (SCE) in Cairo on January 9th on account of strengthening economic ties with Egypt.

Federal Minister for Commerce and Industries Dr. Gohar Ejaz and Minister for Trade & Industry of Egypt Ahmed Samir will jointly inaugurate the event at the Egypt International Convention Center on Tuesday.

A delegation comprising over 100 companies led by the federal minister will be in Cairo from January 9th to 11th to grace the mega event and highlight Pakistan’s commitment to fostering strong economic relations with Egypt.

Other dignitaries in the delegation comprised the Secretary for Commerce, the Chief Executive of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), the Secretary of the Board of Investment (BOI), and other senior officers from the Ministry of Commerce, BOI, and TDAP.

Trade Development Conference to Follow Exhibition

The conference, scheduled for January 9th, would be followed by a two-day single-country exhibition on January 10th and 11th, 2024. Over 200 businessmen and investors from Pakistan, representing various sectors such as textiles, engineering goods, services, food, and agriculture, would participate in exploring and establishing business collaborations between the two sides. In addition, more than 150 key business figures and chamber representatives from the Middle East and North African (MENA) region will congregate in the capital of Egypt to explore trade prospects and commercial ties with Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Mr. Muhammad Zubair Motiwala, extended a warm invitation to the business and trade community of Egypt and the MENA region to attend both the conference and exhibition.

This initiative is in line with Pakistan’s government’s “Look Africa” Policy, which has previously generated significant commercial benefits in Johannesburg, Lagos, and Nairobi. This time, the focus would be to strengthen ties with the MENA region and with Cairo as the chosen destination. The event aims to explore and create opportunities for boosting trade, strengthening joint ventures, and collaborative efforts between Pakistan and MENA countries.
