MULTAN: Pakistan cricket team’s skipper Babar Azam said on Tuesday that he was confident with the playing squad and would continue the same momentum in the Asia Cup as well as the World Cup 2023.
Addressing a press conference at Multan Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, Babar Azam said that the team has delivered the best in the recent series against Afghanistan and committed to repeat the performance in the Asia Cup as well.
He said that all players had demonstrated their best performance in given situations; both batters and bowlers were dominated.
The captain said that he was confident with the national squad and there would be no changes, but in case of someone’s injury or any other problem.
Talking about the preparations for the mega-events, he said that the fitness of the players was being maintained properly, and the traveling schedule had also been set for give rest to players.
Babar Azam Appreciates Team’s Achievements
He said that the team grabbed multiple achievements, particularly the position of the world’s number one team, despite criticism and different situations in the last one and a half years.
He said that the players have overcome their weaknesses and play an important role in obtaining the title of number one team in the world.
To a query, he said that he never wished individual performance but the performance which resulted in the team’s victory. The team would enter the ground with high spirits and planning to beat Nepal in the opening match of the Asia Cup to be played on 30 August at Multan Cricket Stadium.
