ISLAMABAD: Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) will be celebrated across Pakistan on September 29, as the Rabi-ul-Awwal moon was not sighted, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced.
The Islamic month of Rabi-ul-Awwal will commence on Monday, September 18, with Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) falling on September 29 (Friday).
This announcement followed a meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, chaired by its chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, in Islamabad to sight the Rabi-ul-Awwal moon. The meeting was attended by members from central and zonal committees.
Various moon sighting reports from different parts of the country were evaluated during the meeting.
Maulana Azad, in a press conference following the meeting, stated, “The committee didn’t receive moon sighting reports from any part of the country, and with consensus, the committee concluded that the month of Rabi-ul-Awal will commence on September 18 (Monday).”
Eid Milad-un-Nabi Celebration
With this announcement, Eid Milad-un-Nabi will be celebrated on the 12th Rabi ul Awal, September 29.
The 12th Rabi-ul-Awal is significant as it marks Eid Milad-un-Nabi, a day celebrated throughout the country with religious enthusiasm. The day features public processions, events, and seminars that focus on the Seerat (biography) of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Earlier, the chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee dismissed rumors regarding the moon sighting for Rabi-ul-Awal and clarified that they had not received any reports from any parts of the country regarding the moon sighting.
