Pakistan Theatre Festival to Begin from Sept 8

KARACHI:  Pakistan Theater Festival will begin on September 8 where 45 theater shows will be performed in 30 days.

Arts Council of Pakistan is organizing the festival in Pakistani’s financial hub Karachi.

President Arts Council Karachi Muhammad Ahmad Shah told journalist that the Council has provided a platform to theater groups and artists from across Pakistan to show their talent and skills in performing arts.

He said that theater groups from seven countries will also be attending the festival. He said during the colorful event 45 shows in 30 days would enthrall the audience in Urdu, English, Persian, Sindhi, Punjabi languages.

He appreciated the role of media in showing positive image of Arts Council of Pakistan. He added that media has always supported the initiatives of Arts Council of Pakistan such as World Urdu Conference, Pakistan Literature Festival and the Youth Festival.

He said that the council is focusing more on teaching and many workshops on acting and other performing arts would be organized during the festival.

Director and actor Manoor Saeed expressing his views said Pakistan Theater Festival is a great success due to the hard work of Ahmed Shah and Sajid Hasan.
