ISLAMABAD: Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator, said here on Friday that in order to boost trade with Iran, Islamabad was fully committed to undertaking all possible measures to all bottlenecks.
In his meeting with Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan, who called on him, Ishaq Dar said the current trade volume between Iran and Pakistan was not at the optimal level.
The Minister highlighted fraternal, cordial, and deep-rooted ties between the two countries based on centuries-old cultural and religious affinities.
Steps to boost trade included opening of border markets
Ishaq Dar added that Iran and Pakistan had immense potential for collaboration in the fields of trade, energy, and other sectors.
The discussion also stressed on barter trade, the opening of border markets, free trade agreement, and mutual investment to enhance the trade volume between the two countries.
