ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Tajikistan have reviewed measures to further expand and strengthen military cooperation between the two countries, Pakistan’s military media wing said in a statement on Wednesday.
The military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said that the Defence Minister of Tajikistan, Colonel General Sobirzoda Emomali Abdulrahim, called on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, at Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
“Both sides discussed a wide range of matters of bilateral interest, especially the prevailing global and regional security environment,” ISPR added.
The dignitaries reviewed measures to further enhance the scope and level of military cooperation between the two countries.
The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee emphasised that Pakistan and Tajikistan, as brotherly nations, remain committed to strengthening and expanding their defence ties, with the shared goal of promoting regional peace and stability.

The Tajik Defence Minister commended the professionalism and achievements of the Pakistan Armed Forces in counterterrorism operations and peacekeeping efforts.
Earlier, a tri-services contingent presented a Guard of Honour to the visiting dignitary.
The visit underscores the growing defence partnership between Pakistan and Tajikistan and highlights their mutual commitment to fostering security, stability, and development across the broader Central and South Asian region.
In August, Pakistan and Tajikistan held a Joint Counter Terrorism Exercise Dosti-ll at Fakhrobod Base, Tajikistan.
