ISLAMABAD: The 15-day training camp for Pakistani athletes preparing for the 11th Al-Fujairah Open Taekwondo Championship in Al-Fujairah, UAE, scheduled from February 4 to 6, concluded in Sharjah, local media reported on Friday. Master Yusuf Karami, supervised the training of the national players during the camp, a press release said.
The national squad participating in the Al Fujairah Open includes Haroon Khan, Hamza Omar Saeed, Shahzaib Khan, Muhammad Arbaz Khan, Mazhar Abbas, Nauman, and Ehtishamul Haq. Omar Saeed serves as the team leader, Ashfaq Ahmed as Manager, Yusuf Karami as Head Coach, Zubair Macha as the coordinator, and Faisal Butt as the physiotherapist.
Following the Al Fujairah Open, the Pakistan Taekwondo team will compete in the Fajr Open Taekwondo Championship in Tehran from February 12 to 15, followed by the World Taekwondo President Asia Cup from February 16 to 19, also in Tehran. Subsequently, they will participate in the Asian Club Taekwondo Championship from February 21 to 22.
Reflecting on the upcoming events, national players Haroon Khan and Hamza Saeed expressed gratitude for the comprehensive training provided during the 15-day camp in Sharjah. They emphasized being fully prepared for the competitions while acknowledging the importance of not underestimating any opponent.
