LAHORE, Pakistan: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 players’ draft is likely to be held on January 30, with internal preparations already underway, according to local media reports.
The league’s management has formally initiated its planning process and is working to complete all procedural and administrative matters well in advance to ensure a smooth and timely draft, according to media reports, citing sources.
An official announcement on the final date and venue for the players is expected soon.
According to sources cited by the media, the draft has been tentatively scheduled to take place during a one-day gap in the upcoming Pakistan–Australia T20 International series.
Holding the event during that window is expected to allow the participation of key stakeholders while remaining aligned with the international cricket calendar.
Once confirmed, the draft will bring together franchise owners, coaches and other authorised representatives from all eight teams to finalise player selections and squad strategies for the new season.
PSL expansion to eight teams
Season 11 will mark a major milestone for the PSL, as the league has expanded from six to eight franchises.
Hyderabad and Sialkot have been added following a high-profile auction held at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad.
The Sialkot franchise was acquired by the FKS Group for Rs1.75 billion, while OZ Developers secured the Hyderabad franchise for Rs1.85 billion.
They will join the existing franchises: Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, Islamabad United and Multan Sultans.
The PSL draft is a central feature of the league’s structure, determining how each franchise builds its squad through the selection of local and overseas players across multiple categories.
The 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League is scheduled to run from March 26 to May 3, 2026.
