ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has invited nominations for the 11th edition of its Hamaray Heroes initiative, calling on fans across the country to recognise individuals who have made significant contributions to society beyond the world of cricket.

Nominations can be submitted through an online form until 3pm on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. The upcoming edition is expected to be the largest so far as the league expands to eight teams for the first time.

Launched during the fifth edition of the PSL in 2020, the Hamaray Heroes initiative has since become a regular feature of the tournament. Now entering its sixth consecutive year, the programme aims to highlight Pakistanis whose achievements have positively represented the country both domestically and internationally.

The 11th edition of the PSL is scheduled to begin on March 26 at Gaddafi Stadium, where defending champions Lahore Qalandars will face Hyderabad Kingsmen in the opening match.

Exceptional service

Through the initiative, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recognises individuals who have demonstrated exceptional service in various sectors. Previous honourees include mountaineer Ali Sadpara, Olympic javelin gold medallist Arshad Nadeem, e-sports champion Arslan Ash, Commonwealth Games wrestling champion Inam Butt, Olympic swimmer Kiran Khan, boxer Mohammad Wasim, and astrophysicist Dr Mariam Sultana.

A PCB review panel will evaluate all nominations before preparing a final shortlist of individuals to be honoured during PSL matches. The selected heroes will receive cash awards, while their achievements will be highlighted through short documentaries aired on the league’s digital platforms and during live broadcasts.

Nominations are open for individuals from a wide range of fields, including sports (excluding cricket), education, healthcare, arts, culture, music, social work, social entrepreneurship and technology.
