ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has strongly condemned the dastardly terrorist attack that occurred earlier on Wednesday in the Martyrs Cemetery of the provincial capital of Kerman, Iran, resulting in large number of deaths and injuries.
In a statement, Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson said, “Pakistan stands in complete solidarity with the Government and brotherly people of Iran in this hour of tragedy and grief”.
It added that Pakistan extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured people.

The statement further said that Pakistan believed that terrorism is a menace and threat to regional and international peace and security. “It needs to be confronted through bilateral and regional cooperation” the statement added.
Pakistan Strongly Denounces Dastardly Terrorist Attack in Iran
Earlier, two blasts killed over 100 people and wounded many at a ceremony in Iran to commemorate top General Qassem Soleimani who was assassinated by a US strike in 2020 in Iraq.
Iranian official media reported a first and then a second explosion during a crowded anniversary event at the cemetery where Soleimani was buried in the city of Kerman.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar also expressed his deep sorrow and grief over the huge loss of lives in the explosions.

Taking to X, PM Kakar said that Pakistan denounced the heinous act and stood in solidarity with Tehran.
