ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has strongly condemned the brutal Israeli attack on Al-Ahly Al-Mamadany Hospital in Gaza, local media reported on Tuesday.

In a statement, Pakistan’s foreign office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said “Targeting a hospital where civilians were seeking emergency treatment and shelter is indefensible and inhumane,”

The spokesperson stated the indiscriminate targeting of civilians and health facilities was a serious violation of global law and also constitutes war crimes.

“We call on the world to take immediate measures to bring an end to the Israeli bombing and siege of Gaza and the impunity with which Israelis have operated in the last several days,” the spokesperson added.

Earlier, the health ministry in the Gaza Strip confirmed that at least 500 innocent Palestinian civilians, including women and children, were martyred in a brutal Israeli airstrike on al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City.

The hospital, a place of refuge for thousands seeking medical treatment and shelter amidst relentless Israeli bombardment, targeting commercial buildings, schools, homes and civilian residences, was hit in what Gaza’s Hamas government described as a “war crime.”

The hospital, which was also sheltering people forcibly displaced from their homes due to Israeli airstrikes, was reduced to rubble. Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, the head of pediatrics at the Kamal Adwan Hospital, condemned the attack, calling it “unconscionable.” He emphasized the urgent need for international intervention to stop the targeting of hospitals and civilians in Gaza.  Qatar, Jordan and Turkey strongly condemned the Brutal Israeli Airstrike on Gaza Hospital.
